Plan of Salvation

While it can seem overwhelming when you look at the amount of scripture that is in the Bible, the plan of salvation is very straightforward. If you are ready to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, this explains how you can do just that. And please remember that you can be saved anywhere and at any time. You do not have to wait for a Sunday morning to go to the altar of prayer.

ADMIT that you are a sinner in need of forgiveness

…for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6

Have SORROW for the sin you have committed

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation. 2:Corinthians 7:10

BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died for your sins

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

CONFESS Jesus as Lord of your life

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10

By FAITH you can receive forgiveness right now!

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. Acts 3:19

The prayer below is an example of what to say. Remember, “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

Dear God, I know I have sinned and need forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. I receive his gift of forgiveness right now and ask Him to be in charge of my life. Amen

What now?

Find a church that can help you to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3:18

Having a church family is extremely important to the growth of a Christian. The Bible makes it very clear how this fellowship is very much a part of maintaining a strong faith.

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Colossians 3:16

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, knoweth God.” 1 John 4:7

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7
